Patty is a watercolor illustrator and fine artist based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While she has been painting, and drawing since the age of 12, her introduction to watercolor began a few years ago after retiring from the financial industry. She found watercolor to be magical while exploring new painting techniques. With this medium, the connection was immediate and it has since defined her painting style and marked the beginning for Patty B. Lipinski Illustration.
Her work includes illustrations for people/pet portraits, children’s furniture murals, set design and mixed media as well as mediums of watercolor, pen and ink, acrylics and oil utilizing a medium appropriate to the subject matter. Her work is reflective of a storybook’s pages of emotion being told one pigmented glaze at a time.
Her experience in Art began at The Carnegie Museum in Oakland adult education classes studying Portraits and Fine Art. Later, Chinese Brush Painting at the University of Pittsburgh. Finally, Interior Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
For over 15 years she has shown her work at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, The Senator John Heinz History Center, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Associated Artists of Butler County, The Mall at Robinson, Guan Shanyue Art Museum(Shenzhen, China), Art All Night at the Sto-Rox Gallery and various galleries throughout Pittsburgh. Her work has received Special Recognition Awards.
